Leibster Award.

I HAVE BEEN NOMINATED FOR AN AWARD.

Hell yeah. I was nominated by my favourite ninja. NINA.

It's SO PINK I LOVE IT.

Here are the rules:

- Link back to the person who nominated you.

- Answer the eleven questions your nominees has nominated for you, list eleven facts about yourself and set eleven questions for your nominees.

- Nominate eleven bloggers who have less than two hundred followers and who you think really deserve it (this one is going to be trickiest)

*quick interruption SANDITON IS COMING AGH I LOVE GIGI DARCY*

1. What is your favourite band(s)?

It's probably really obvious to everyone I know but Imagine Dragons. Oh and this band called Jarrs who are working on their terrible name but the lead singer is awesome (hint: it's me). However artist wise I adore Sara Bareilles and WATSKY. I AM GOING TO SEE HIM AGH.

2) Favourite book(s)?

Why Nina, why?

Ok.So there's the Harry Potter Series by JK Rowling, the Percy Jackson series by Rick Riordan, Looking for Alaska, TFIOS (both by the God of literature, John Green), The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon and Every Day by David Levithan.

What's that? I have a book blog with my friend Maiya? http://doublespectrum.blogspot.co.uk/
Oh and you can buy books from me? http://www.bookdepository.co.uk/?a_aid=SophieCharlotte

3) Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr?

Twitter. Twitter. Twitter. However the app is so glitchy since the update. GET IT TOGETHER TWITTER.

I am a huge fan of gifs. Can someone make a gif of me? Thanks.

4) Favourite school subjects?

Well, we'll go with my A levels, Geography and the three sciences. But I'm going to miss Maths SO much.

P.E. is the work of the devil.

5) Future career?

To be a doctor (hopefully) but if I decide against that maybe go into publishing or be a film editor.

DECISIONS.
I am such a commitment-o-phobe.

6) How would you describe yourself?

WHY NINA WHY?

I don't know.

Short?

Ok so I'm a vegetarian (description) and pretty strong opinionated and, oh, someone once called me, I quote, "a sweetie" on twitter. I am a huge nerdfighter and I am very pale and I love that. Oh and I'm pretty conscientious.

Moving on.

7) What would you like to change about yourself?

I would probably make myself 5ft 8. That's a nice height. And my hair would grow faster. And I would like the ability to learn things when I just read them, so revision would be easier.

8) If you could have one wish, what would it be?

To have more wishes.

I would want to fly, I could have a pocket SatNav that tracked all of my possessions so I wouldn't have that "WHERE IS MY _______" moment and an invisibility cloak. I would also like to meet Dumbledore. I would also like 10 a*s with no work. I would also like a credit card with no limit and a slide down to a basement full of urban outfitters clothes and posh camera equipment. And the money for travel.

9) Film or book that made you cry?

EVERYTHING.

But my top two books are Harry Potter 7 (book, not film because FILM DUMBLEDORE #2 is TERRIBLE) and TFIOS. My top film was the last scene in Toy Story 3. That was traumatising.

10) If you could be anywhere in the world right now, where would you be?

Not doing my GCSEs. And in North or South America. I genuinely don't care which one just TAKE ME TO AMERICA.

11) Political standing?

I hate them all. Apart from the Monster Raving looneys (see their policy proposals here) and Obama. Obama's a sweety.

I am inclined to say Kingsley Shacklebolt would be brilliant. Or Morgan Freeman.

"I AM MORGAN FREEMAN AND WE SHALL NOT GO TO WAR BECAUSE EVERYONE WANTS TO KEEP PEACE WITH ME BECAUSE MY VOICE. OVER AND OUT"

Who am I going to nominate?

Ok, I'm sorry I don't know that many bloggers because I mainly just write not socialise and I AM A TERRIBLE PERSON. I only follow like, 8 people and NINA NOMINATED MOST OF THEM.

Maiya, my friend on her blog: http://maiyasrandomblog.blogspot.co.uk

SmellsLikeTeenFiction, who I met at festive: http://smelsliketeenfiction.blogspot.co.uk/

Sorry.

I'm an awful person.

Les questions,

1) Favourite album of the moment.
2) Favourite theme park
3) Favourite disney movie (s)
4) OTP
5) Favourite Film(s)
6) Favourite book(s) of all time
7) Worst book ever
8) What subjects you take
9) Favourite brand of chocolate
10) 10 random facts about you
11) Why exams suck.

Wow Sophie, aren't you a genius.

See you soon. After some exams.

Hypocrisy thy name.

Quick mini rant (haven't you missed these!) about camera snobbery.

Ok so on Wednesday I brought my beautiful new refurbed nikon d3200 which I got 66% off into school because it was my school's annual year 11 muck up day where we all dressed up. It was a lot of fun and I've got loads of awesome pictures and films and I dressed up a soldier.

On the bus I was taking pictures of my friends and in order to take a good picture of the people behind me I had to "turn off" the view finder and use the screen instead, which I only really use for taking films. The reason was because I needed to take a photo above my head and my eye was not high enough to use the view finder because I'm not a bug. But then. It happened.

One of the guys said "can I take some photos" and I was like "sure" because I am a lovely person. When he took the camera he said:

"Why aren't you using the viewfinder?"

He was very nice about it so I calmly explained why I had used the screen because it was a very good reason. But he was basically being a camera snob. I may have only got my camera a month ago but I use it all the time for Document Your Life and I would like to think I am pretty competent. Oh but do you want to know the worst part?

Every picture he took was blurry.

Then, there was the second incident. One of my friends asked me if he could take some photos on my stunning new camera and I said yes, because as we have established, I'm a brilliant person (that is sarcasm, foreign readers).

*quick debrief for those who don't know about slrs* on an slr (bug black cameras) you can either choose manual focus or auto focus, either you have to individually focus every single one of your photos or your camera can do it.

My friends had been taking pictures and I had it on auto because they don't use slrs, and I'm fine with that and also because I was being a bit lazy. But then. Hypocrisy struck again. And this one was worse.

"Why do you have it on autofocus?" *sigh*

I'm sorry did you just sigh? Who cares if I don't manually focus every one of my photos! I certainly don't! I manually focus all of my films, which take up a whopping 200gb of memory on my external hard drive. And my friends can't use slrs (apart from Callum and Bex) so I wanted in focus photos of me. But that's not even the worst part.

EVERY SINGLE ON OF HIS PHOTOS ARE BLURRED AND OUT OF FOCUS.

Darn it I hate hypocrites.  They're so smug and...

Anyway to round it off here's a quote from the valiant Percival Cox:

"Hypocrisy, thy name, is you."

"I want to be Daisy Buchanan"

So the whole of the USA has apparently watched the Great Gatsby and every single girl wants to be Daisy.
*disclaimer* I am totally qualified to talk about this as it's my set text.
The whole point of Daisy is she's a very careless and selfish character who doesn't marry Gatsby because he's poor and his love for her has always held him back. There are great long metaphory paragraphs in this book describing this such as that very strange one about the flowers and breasts at the end of the party that the Buchanans attend.
I get that she's fashionable and pretty but she is meant to be a complex and manipulative character.
If you want to be like that, cool, but don't say that you want to be her for her wardrobe. Go spend everything you own at urban outfitters on one item of clothing. That's what I do.
Good night.

My favourite Scrubs moment

I am a huge scrubs fan and I've seen every episode. Ever.
There's a couple of scenes that get to me, such as a particularly poignant death when I cry like a baby ("aren't you going to be taking pictures"..."where do you think we are?") and when "how to save a life" plays.
There's just this one scene.
And it's so beautiful and so moving that none of my other moments compare because of the power of the scene is incredible.
This has to be played at my funeral.

What is art?

Graffiti at Brixham in Devon.

Is this art? Is this vandalism, claiming something and abusing something that isn't theirs right? It's "cool" and I really like some of it but what if it was my wall? Would I like it then?

But view these images against the beautiful British sky.

Enjoy.

Oxford

I went with this sweety: http://ninjaswithmoustaches.blogspot.co.uk/ and my sister and Mum.
Also I have a book blog: http://doublespectrum.blogspot.co.uk/

Carry on, carry on.

This is the University town of Oxford and the second day since November I haven't worn a coat outside. 10 degrees! The pictures were taken on the main shopping street, down various side streets and on the roof of the car park. Oh and that old building next to burger king? That's 1000 years old. Take that, US of A. No, I love you really.

Imagine Dragons at O2 Academy Bristol 2/4/13

Imagine Dragons are on their second UK tour and anyone who knows me or my twitter knows I'm a long standing fan. I saw them in Oxford last November along a crowd of the brightest students in the country and yesterday (on the 2nd of April) I saw them at Bristol. They will play the festival circuit this summer but I hold a warning for all going.

I know every lyric. Of every song. Even the song played before Bleeding Out that isn't recorded and I swear I was the only person that knew it. But you will never be able to listen to their album after seeing them live.

Dan carries himself off with such energy the whole set, interacts with the crowd and THAT VOICE. He hits every note perfectly and he also stares at individual people when he sings and that really helps you connect with the band.

Ben is great, he does a lot of singing and it really adds to the music. He also plays the big drum on stage and pulls that off really well and I think he deserves more credit.

Wayne, oh Wayne. You always get second most attention because of your long flowing locks and your bromance with Dan is amazing but maybe more interaction with the crowd (I'm sorry, I love you really!)

And finally Daniel. I think you are the most underrated of the band because you put so much energy into your drumming and you keeo coming out from behind the kit and you interact with the audience.  I will always love you because you once told me my cover of radioactive was good via twitter. I think Daniel deserves more credit. He gave his sticks to this 10 year old at the end. DANIEL!

My favourite song live is probably anything with the large drum so Radioactive is pretty awesome as all four of them play drums and I'm pretty sure Ryan, their touring member who's a bit distant, plays drums as well. Thirty Lives/Lay me down though is my favourite song of all time but Cha-ching (til we grow older) was also amazing. All of their songs were incredible and Dan, the main spokesperson is a sweetie.

This energy they pull off in concert can not be heard in a recording so their album sounds very mundane after seeing them live. The CD just sounds... dull. The crowd was a bit violent, which wasn't as nice as Oxford but Imagine Dragons are going up. Their performances are getting better. There, you have my warning. Best people you will ever see live. Just you will never unsee them.
